Ɣetoto arts Foundation & Festival founded in 2017, the Xetoto Arts Foundation—'Xetoto' meaning "sunrise" in Ewe—has consistently aimed to awaken and showcase the talents of Keta's youth through various artistic endeavors. Our annual events, including the Ɣetoto Arts Festival, have become significant cultural highlights, drawing attention to the rich traditions and stories of the Anlo people.
Xetoto Arts Foundation & Festival is a pioneering initiative that celebrates the fusion of technology, culture, and creativity: to bridge the gap between traditional art forms and emerging technologies in a way that inspires learning, innovation, and cultural pride.
Founded on the belief that creativity is a universal language, Xetoto serves as both an educational foundation and a community-driven arts festival. We bring together artists, inventors, makers, and educators to explore how robotics, visual arts, crafts, and digital technologies can shape new forms of expression and problem-solving.
Through our year-round programs, we offer:
-
Creative STEAM education for youth and underserved communities
-
Art-tech exhibitions and public installations
-
Craft and robotics workshops blending old and new techniques
-
Residencies and collaborations for emerging artists and engineers
-
And the vibrant Xetoto Arts Festival, our annual celebration of culture, innovation, and community
We believe in the power of hands-on learning and the importance of cultural expression in shaping the future. Through workshops, installations, performances, and collaborative labs, we empower people of all ages to explore new ways of thinking and making.
At Xetoto, we are committed to:
-
Fostering innovation through artistic expression
-
Bridging traditional skills with modern technology
-
Creating inclusive spaces for learning and creativity
-
Supporting emerging artists and young inventors
Xetoto is more than an event — it’s a movement. We exist to empower the next generation of artists and innovators, foster dialogue between tradition and technology, and create inclusive spaces where all voices and visions are welcomed.
Whether you're a student discovering robotics through sculpture, an elder sharing ancestral craft knowledge, or an artist imagining the future with code, Xetoto is your platform to create, connect, and transform.
